Cleaning 25mm & 40mm brass?
I'm just using these as display items so, what would be the best way to clean them up?

Also what color paint would best match the original paint on these?

The 2nd set looks like a green phosphate on steel. Replicating the stencils will be the hardest part (make a tracing of them before starting work.
The brass cases I'd use a mix of 20% white vinegar / 80% hot water for 5-10 minutes followed by a hot water rinse and dry.
Edit to add:
Are you sure the first 2 are brass (check with a magnet)? The crud inside the neck looks like rust (iron oxide) in the photo.0 -

I checked & magnets won't stick to them.0 -
i have used a diluted solution of Muriatic acid, (swimming pool grade) then douche them with a water/baking soda mixture to stop the acid reaction. 0 -
Exterior (brass specimens)...Brasso and a buffing wheel.......?? 0
