Winchester 74 Deluxe?
Hey everyone, I went on a 22 spree yesterday and this 74 was just begging to go home with me. Any idea if this could be factory?

Nice, but NOT factory..... 0 -
Really nice looking rifle. The one I shot wasn't that fancy.
You can look at these and then do an advanced search on completed auctions.

Would Winchester have done that on order? I dunno, but it is about as close to a Model 70 Supergrade or a Model 52 Sporter as you could get an automatic.
In 1939 Winchester would checker any stock for $2.75 extra, $5.50 fancy. But no mention of adding a black foreend tip.
Probably aftermarket, but nice aftermarket.0 -
Anythings possible? But during the time frame that the 74 was made. It wasn't Winchesters top of the line, .22 semi-auto. I just don't see anybody having high quality custom work done by Winchester on a 74. Rather than on the Model 63. Which was their high quality, top of the line, .22 rifle. 0 -
Funny, years ago I was asked by a friend to sell his deceased father's guns. A 63 with a grooved receiver was in the bunch. I took it to a gun show where vendor's left their tables and were following me around making offers. That was 10 years ago, I got $650.00 for it. I was not much into guns back then or I would have hung on to it. 0 -
I am in the probably not factory group.
I have one in .22Short only that was my father's.
Great shooting rifle but nothing fancy, a little heavy by today's standards. But a joy to shoot.0
