Just acquired a Belgian made "parlor pistol". 22 Long caliber, marked PARIS on the barrel and on the base of the grip frame. It has an octagon barrel that is 7 & 7/16 inches long and overall length of the firearm is 11 & 1/4 inches. It is a single shot, opening like a single shot shotgun by means of a side lever on the left side of the frame and the hammer is exposed. The trigger is of the spur type and there is a means of attaching a buttstock. Blue on the barrel remains at 50% and the frame is even gray patina. The bore is excellent and it shoots very well. Any ideas as to manufacturer or value? There are proofings for smokeless powder but nothing to indicate the manufactuer.

That's a Flobert Monte Cristo . Usually in 6mm. Made from 1856 to about 1920.

The Proof Mark is German, and would date to after 1891. Don't attempt to shoot it, as the mechanism is very fragile. Made to fired only with a primer as propellent, firing a round lead ball.

An identical example is shown in the 1911 catalog of Adolph Frank, Hamburg @ 1.44 marks per ten:

That's $1.02 in today's exchange rate, or ten cents each!

anyone know of any info on a mid 19th century parlor pistol it may be German ..it's a .22 has markings of a crown bear and the letter U on it as well as the #10

I have a similar gun that is a little different. Instead of the #10 on the extractor tab, mine is a stylish #95 which is orientated about 270 deg clockwise. My gun is too pitted to easily make out the "U" or anything else on the underside of the barrel. However, there are proof marks(?) on the breech piece that seem to be the same in the OP.
