ITALIAN CARCANO CARBINE IDENTITY?
I need help with Italian Carcano Carbine. It's in 6.5mm has 17.5" bbl. measures 36.25" OAL. Serial# is H9XXX, marked PS, 1913, Brescia and then a GO or CO inside oval on hex shaped barrel/chamber area flats. Stock has matching serial # on left side of butt with FAT 1947 stamped in Oval cartouche. Rear sights have a push button release on left that you can then raise sight with lever on right going from 600 to 1500 meters, Back sight is fixed & set for? Top of rcvr. ring has "Made in Italy" with a small CO or GO inside oval. Has metal forend cap with sling swivel and some kind of base for bayonet that is grooved in front with notch on left for opening to rotate base of bayonet into (I'm guessing) Small 1/4 inch square bump on bottom of barrel 3/8 inch back from muzzle. What do I have here? Dates of 1913 on barrel and 1947 on butt indicate some conversion? What type of bayonet would go here? Has full length (10.25 inch handguard) running from rear sight to forend cap/swivel/bayonet base.
Thanks for your Detective work on this.

Most likely the Model 1891 Special Troops Carbine. The bayonet and how it is mounted is unique, to that particular model.
In Italian the designation is "TS" ( "Truppe Speciali" ).0
