Well worn 16 gauge made by the Simson Co. in 1931, according to the proof date.
Simson was a well known firearms company in Germany. After the First World War, they were very prolific. And made different military and commercial firearms.
Because of Simson name and history, likely the shotgun would have more value to a European collector. IMHO.

Wow, you are right it is a 16ga, I didn't even notice that.
Thanks so much
Yes it is well used. I don't mind the condition overall but someone varnished the stock......
Someone could tell me this shotgun is worth $150 or ten times that, I have no idea. Just trying to get a ballpark, I am glad I did not accidentally list it as a 12ga though... thanks again.0 -

Barrel length and bore condition ?
Knock down the true oil.
$300 would be cheap, $500 too much.
I am selling it on consignment, I just don't know what to tell the owner it might bring. The barrel is 28 inches and the bore is actually very good with no rust. It is stamped "FLUSS - STAHL".
I have 2 more I don't know anything about if anyone here has a guess:

I was thinking the Ithaca might be worth a few hundred.. and the other one maybe 100bucks?
I just want to give her a reasonable idea of what they might bring at a GunBroker auction. If that 16ga is only going to bring $300 she might keep it as a wallhanger.
Thanks, for the input I know these are not super interesting.
re;true oil, I am almost certain it is shellack or varnish
