  Two different serial number ranges, with or without letter "J" prefix.

  I bought one of the same vintage, a number of years ago. It was tight and in excellent condition, until I screwed it up. With the alloy frames they are made for CCW. Not a lot of shooting. Unike the steel framed Model 36. You do any appreciable amount of shooting with it. Guaranteed it will go out of time, and start spitting lead.
