If it has the Colt medallion in it, yes.

My 1974 nickel Detective Special came with wood grips. So did my nickel Cobra from 1975 #M716xx.

No medallion. But I understand during that time they went from wood to rubber grips. Very confusing. I'd like to place a set of orig. grips on it but am confused as to what the orig. gips were[?]

These are the factory Pachmayr Grips, they may have come later than '75.

That is not so, as it was about at least 20 years to early. I have a DS. made in that era, and it has the wrap around the bottom, wood grips.

As a general rule, rubber grips did not start turning up as factory items, until about 1990, for most manufacturer's.
