cornbean....if I had to bet one of the mags is factory, the other from a "workshop" and is later (the one overstruck). Looking more closely at your grips, they do look like the real deal and are not cracked like many mottled ppk grips are. I have one just like this one but I have the mottled mag extension to go with it. They are one piece grips. The pistol has a bit of wear on it but they are great little shooters. I think you will like it. Hope this helps.

Looks like it was originally a .380 mag that was remarked. I believe the .380 mags have a slightly different lip configuration because of the larger body diameter of the .380 cartridge.

The one mag does not hold slide open. Figured out why the one mag doesn't hold slide open. I'ts the piece that the spring pushes on where the bullets sit against maybe called the follower, correct me if I'm wrong. Does anyone know where I can buy that piece. Thanks

If Rufe is right about the mag...and he probably is...why mess with it? Go out and get a real ppk mag that works correctly. Not worth fooling with a bubbed mag IMO.

The mag is exactly like the one that says PPk on it, no difference except it has been restamped over a number 9. I switched followers on the two mags and that is the problem.

Real Walther Mags are easy to find and not all that expensive. As to finding mag parts like a follower, try Numrich (Gun Parts Corp) Search the web for "Gun Parts" to find other sources. It will be more miss than hit, but you might score.
