Going to be hard to id your ppk without some photos. With the serial # you give, sounds like a variation one model, probably made in 1940. Does it have a military acceptance mark....like E/359 perhaps? As to grips, they came in all kinds but note that there are LOTS of fakes out there. But need photos. Most ppk's were NOT made for the German Army but rather went to a host of other places.....police, Gestapo, Nazi party flunkies....so we will need those photos to help you more.

Marschall's book puts your PPK right at the cutoff point, when the full Waffenamt marking, "WaA359", was first used on PPK's. This dates it to 1941. It would be interesting to note if yours is just marked with a "359", or the later version?

    EDIT #1,

You got the earlier version, before they started using the full Waffenamt marking. According to Marschall's Book. Only a very small number of PPK's in the 270000K serial number range, have the abbreviated marking. Congratulations appears you have lucked out and got one of proverbial sleepers.

This link shows the standard Waffenamt marking that was used from 1941 to 1945 on PPK's and PP's.

Now that i have gun in my hand it is a eagle over N and on left side is a waffen with 35 right below it with what looks to be a very small c to the right of the 35. These are on the slide and frame behind trigger. Any info would be appreciated.

What I think is a very small c to the right of the 35 is probably a 9 that is not all there.

cornbean......hummm....been my experience with ppk's that they are struck really nice and this one, well, with the bird hard to see and the 9 not really there....just hard to tell. And looks as if someone has diddled with one of the mags with an overstrike. Grips look right with the mottled (some are black plastic, others gripped like this one...many times with a matching mottled mag grip extension) look but I guess I would have to have it my hand to judge. I can tell you that it doesn't look like the many others I have seen nor the three I have. Having said all that, it does look like it is not in the best of shape with holster wear/what looks like flaking. Just my two bits.

I thought someone might have messed with it to if one of the 9's was messed up but both 9,s look exactly the same. So I figured it was a bad stamp.
