Herter's .45ACP TNJ rounds
I have seen some of these rounds advertised. Aluminum case, non reloadable, with Total Nylon Jacket. I know these are just plinker target rounds and for $22/50 round box, not a bad price. But has anyone had issues with the nylon in the barrel? I work with plastics all day long and I know pretty much the melting point of nylon. Would the barrel temp exceed the melting point at some point and leave plastic residue behind?
Just wondering if this is a cheap option for target shooting/plinking or if this will come back and bite me with jamming and other issues.

Federal sold similar ammo years ago, nylon jacketed JHP's. I never had a problem with it personally. As it was expensive, never used it for high volume shooting. As 9mm was one of the calibers it was available for. I'm sure some folks used them in sub guns and carbines. Never was aware of problems of the nylon jackets melting when fired from these types of guns? 0
