Colt Police Positive Special Grips?

I have 1 that the grips are not correct, ill fitting.
What grip size should I look for?
Please help with models, not frame sizes.

They made several different grip frames for that revolver, at least 3; none of their grips interchange.

I believe there were actually 4 issues of the Police Positive (according to the Standard Catalog). Serial number range my help you sort out which issue you have. Mine is 4th issue and serial is 25922R. If it will help at all to eliminate one issue, PM me and I will send a tracing of a grip for this one.

I should have included the # the first post.
it's 648043, which makes it about 1953/54.
