Help identifying a machine gun barrel
Gentlemen,
I have yet another barrel belonging to a friend that I have not been able to identify. It appears to have the date 1936 and a serial number 7255? In addition to that, there are a number of triangles w/ letters such as M, H, & possibly a sickle stamped in them. There is an arrow similar to a Izhevsk or Sestroryetsk, although not w/ a bow or inside of a triangle. There are various numbers in various places & I have not been able to find anything like it anywhere online. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all the answers regarding the earlier post of the 8X60 Mauser sporting barrel. Please find the link below for pictures: http://s1320.photobucket.com/user/MIK_Investments/library/1936 barrel?sort=3&page=1

It does appear to be an Izhevsk variant mark in one of the photos. 0 -
It would help if you could give us the length of the barrel, and I.D. at the muzzle. 0 -
Looks like a Czech ZB26 or 30. Check and see if 8mm Mauser fits. 0 -
The total length is 23 3/4" (meant to add that the first time) and the muzzle measures approx. between .280" and .312" (between lands & grooves) or 7.3mm to 7.7mm approx. In searching for the Czech ZB26 I came across this site which looks like it more closely resembles the Russian/ Soviet DP/ DPM DP-27 given the distance between the end of the barrel & the cooling rings: http://world.guns.ru/machine/rus/dp-dpm-rp-46-e.html 0 -

You answered your own question. My Wag is that it's the earlier version, i.e. DP, as shown in this photo.
