1906 Winchester
First I do not know how to post a picture on the Forum. I just purchased the 1906 and it has a B under the serial number, what does that mean?
It has a strange front sight. It is a round with a small hole, nothing inside the hole and a small blade sight on the top. The hole is not threaded and no sign that anything was ever in it. Has a lyman tang sight and a filler in the rear dovetail. Anybody ever seen a front sight like this one.

you sort of lost me on the description, but it sounds like one of those old peep sights you could put the different inserts in. 0 -
Sounds like a Bubba front sight to me.
Broken sprit level? Bubba Globe?

sounds like a BEACH front sight This was a Round globe that had a very small bead on a very thin post inside the globe and then the Top of the globe had a straight Blade sticking above the globe . I suspect the thin post and bead got broken along the way. Google Beach Rifle sight and see if that is what yours looks like 0 -
Hello,
The "B" under the serial number was put there to designate those receivers which were to be used for the Model 1906 from ones that were used on the Model 1890. The receivers are identical with the exception of some minor internal variation. They can not be interchanged between the two rifles.

Well a little bit of K oil and the front sight is a marbles No.2. Am I missing something with the sight? It has a sight on top of the round sight but nothing inside the hole in the sight 0 -

bigLoop22 yes that is my sight. On the advertisement it would be the one to the for right with the small sight on top. My next question is, the gun has tang peep sight that I got to get off and clean up so it will adjust and a blank filler for a rear sight. How do you use the rear peep sight with a front sight like this one? Or should I have a rear sight at all. I have a 06 sight but it does not flip down. Goes in the dovetail and has a adjustable screw in the back for elecation. 0 -
Here are the photos you sent me of the sights on your rifle. To use this sight set up just image the upper bead of the front sight in the center of the aperture in the rear peep sight.
