What do the symbols on the yoke mean?
I just purchased a S&W 65. It has some symbols on the yoke. What do they mean?

I blocked out what I believe is the serial number, but what are the symbols?
Thanks

They are factory build numbers. 0 -
'S' may represent stainless, as Smith & Wesson also used an 'N' to represent nickel, and the two would not be confused. It may also appear on other internal surfaces (check under the grips). 0 -
You blocked out the assembly number. The serial number will be on the bottom of the grip frame. 0 -

Thanks! I wondered about that as well, since both numbers are on the butt. One on the bottom and one of the side.0 -

The serial number on a lot of models are also on the inside of the frame, in front of the cylinder, where the crane fits when it is closed, just so you know.0 -
