Winchester model 1892 book
What is the best book to buy for the model 1892. I have Ned schwring book on the 1890-06 and the 61-62. Any thing out there like that.

Unfortunately, there has not been a dedicated book written for the Model 1892 (yet). Hopefully Michael will do so in the future. Art Pirkle wrote a series of books on the Winchester lever-actions, and Volume 2 covers the Model 1886 and 1892. It is your best option at this point. 0 -

As Bert mentioned, I am busy collecting data on several thousand rifles so that there is a data base to then distill into the information necessary for some sort of reference material. To date I have catalogued 5,800 rifles and want to get another 4000. Every rifle is important to me. In the interim I will be glad to help with any questions you or anybody might have regarding the Model 1892/92 rifles and carbines.
he information in both the Madis and Pirkle books are only useful in a most general way and should not be relied on to be accurate. This is especially true with respect to how the rifles should be marked for any specific SN range and the production ratios of varying configurations.
