I guess i am wondering is what is a fair market price for this gun in fair (at best) condition. Two large chunks of stock are missing. Some small surface rust. I have pics but guess my computer is so ancient that it won't allow me to post.

    EDIT #1,

Although the barrels are made of English steel. The shotgun would be considered of Belgian manufacture. Unfortunately from your description of its condition. It wouldn't be of great value. IMHO.

In your first post you stated a 20 Ga. now you state 16 Ga.[?][?]
16 Ga worth 1/2 of a 20Ga. Sounds like cheap knock off Ment to deceive with English sounding names. We need Close up pictures of proof marks not names the proof marks will tell Where it was made . Europe had great laws and each country had different Proof marks They could put any name but Proof Marks were BY LAW.

EDIT II Belgian made is NOT a good thing. Pictures do show that it was not just a plain Jane model as it does have some engraving. However your pictures are so fuzzy they don't show the details we need
If you look at seller user name "Locust Fork" at any of her items for
sale you will see examples of the type of pictures needed to give a value. I suspect without those type of pictures Value $200.00- to maybe a high of $400.00

any idea on worth of the gun? Is "post 1892 Belgian" a good thing? I can't find anything on this but then again i don't know where to look.

Belgian as previously stated. 16 ga is common for this type. Box lock. Engraving is of little or no consequence. Any damage will detract from an already minimal value.

So... $200 is a pretty standard guess. Probably less given damage. Not coveted by collectors.

the proof mark 16-65 means 16 ga. 65mm chamber, thats 2 9/16" or short chambered by U.S. standards. as above, Belgian, short chambered = not a good thing..........value +- $200

I knew i could count on gb experts to see me thru this. thank you again. Like i said before, I wanted to offer a fair price for the gun and not get it at a steal because i'm dealing with a widow. Now i can offer her a fair price and what she does with it is just that, "what she does with it". Again, thanks. I can alway count on you guys.
