how do you tell the differenc etween a ruger 22-45 mark 2 amd a mark 3 thanks

Grip angle is different on the 22/45, mags are also a little different between the 3 of em.

Ruger added two lawyer mandated safety features to the Mark 3.

The most visible is the loaded chamber indicator. Which is the rectangular bar? on the left side of the barrel extension. Just above the trigger. There is also a internal magazine safety.

Mk III has magazine release like a 1911Ai. Mk II has mag release at the heel of the magazine.

22/45 MK2 has mag release behind trigger guard. I don't think any 22/45 had a heel release.

You can just look at the guns frame. If its a MKIII it will say so, right above the grip, eg:
