Rifle Sling Quick release
I have the Uncle Mikes quick release sling mounts, but I have to unscrew them to get them off....anyone know of an easier way that really is safety first?...

The ones I use are push the button to release then rotate the locking tab out of the way. Slide the swivel off the stud. I have seen some that had the extra lock that required the un-screwing of the button prior to pushing and rotating. 0 -
pwillie,
You can dump both sling swivel systems and go with the flush cups if your stock forearm has enough meat to support it. This is what goes on nearly every LEO and military rifle these days, including the AR10 style.

If you have to unscrew them, I'd say they weren't "quick release". 0 -

They are super nice.
It's said a jig is needed or highly recommended to correctly install the inset that screws into the wood stock.
The stock is a McMillian composite...0 -
Nononsense called a gun part a "forearm'?That's nonsense. 0 -
pwillie,
The Blackhawk base or barrel is glued in place. The hole for the base is put into the stock with a fixture or just the proper size mill cutter. We use a mill cutter.
Pachmayr and one other brand are either glued into the stock or screwed and glued.
Both types will work in wood or synthetic stocks.
