Remington Etronx
I know these have been around for some time now, but I know little to nothing about them. How does the trigger feel when it breaks? How is reliability of the system? Ammo/primer availability? Any other info will be appreciated. THX

I have one in 220 Swift. The trigger doesn't "break," at least not in the typical fashion. There is little or no discernible movement and ignition is instantaneous which was Remington's pitch when they offered the system. It performed well for me with factory and reloaded ammo. Generally could get cloverleaf groups if I did my part. Ammo is loaded in the usual fashion with the only difference being using Etronx primers. That said, I haven't seen ammo or primers for sale in several years. Perhaps it is still available but I suspect very hard to find. I bought quite a few boxes of factory ammo and a thousand or so primers and have them packed away somewhere in the reloading stuff. It is one of the most accurate rifles I own. I don't shoot it much due to the limited availability of ammunition and primers. I'm not aware that there is any way to convert them to conventional ignition but someone else may be able to comment on that. . .as well as to the availability of ammo and primers. 0 -
Brass is standard.
Midway has Etronix primers at $225 a thousand.0 -
Hawkshaw,
There is no 'break' as we would discern it in a spring actuated sear in a standard rifle trigger system. It simply makes an electrical connection and ignites the primer. It is adjustable for pull.
Primers are also available through Powder Valley - $224.00/1,000
