300 Blackout With Cast Lead Bullets
So I decided against the BR rifle, and am going to put together an AR in 300 Blackout. Lee offers a bullet mold for a 230gr. non gascheck bullet for this application.
This seems like a good thing. Anybody shot this Lee bullet?

Only thing I'd be concerned about would be lead shaving off and blocking up your gas port... 0 -
Don't know anything specific about the bullet? Be sure to wear eye protection when shooting it.
In the 80's, I owned one of the early production .357's Desert Eagles. It had a direct impingement gas operating system, like a AR. Use to get all kinds of unburnt powder and jacket material. Blown back into my face. Only shot jacketed .357's, no lead.
Chances are, with a cast lead bullet. Your going to get all kinds of high pressure lead debris blown back into the receiver, and maybe your face.0 -
After shooting 22lr in an AR conversion kit, I fired some 223 and got
some blowback in the face.
Linotype might work.0 -
Also not a good idea if you are planning on using a silencer with it. You will cause excessive fouling. 0 -
I'm in New York State. If I were to write each letter of the word "Silencer" on a separate sheet of paper over a 2 week period Governor Cuomo would personally pull the knifeswitch on 'Ol Sparky and fry me!
Will the cast lead really shave & foul this bad at <1000FPS?0 -
Tried some cast in a 450 Bushmaster a disaster after 10 rounds had to clean gas block new gas tube lead in the bolt carrier
I will not try lead in a AR system again0 -
Call it a suppressor and Cuomo will never twig to what you are talking about. 0 -
Cool with black powder and bolt actions... 0
