Hello,
Magazines could be ordered to almost specifications by the purchaser of the rifle. Here is the breakdown for the first 353,999 Model 1894 rifles.
9:10 (91.6%) had a full length magazine (324,270)
1:13 (7.51%) had a 1/2 magazine (26,579)
1:688 (0.15%) had a 2/3 magazine (515)
1:770 (0.13%) had a 3/4 magazine (459)
Just (1) gun had a 7/8 magazine
Could you post a photo of the rifle?

Not sure how to add a photo. So the 4 shot is a 2/3rds? Is there any more value to this versus them other more popular magazine sizes? thanks. rick 0 -
Rick,
A 4-shot magazine is not the same as a 2/3-magazine on a Sporting Rifle.
The magazine capacity for a standard Sporting Rifle, 26-inch barrel, full length magazine was 8-rounds. A 4-shot magazine would essentially be the same as a 1/2 magazine.
In answer to your question... quote:Is there any more value to this versus them other more popular magazine sizes? the answer is No, there is not.0 -
Thanks for your help. Was just unusual in that the magazine sticks out from the forearm only like an inch an a half or so. Others don't come out of the forearm, have one halfway up the barrel and then the full length magazine. Rick 0
