Drum mag for the browning buckmark?
My nephew thought he saw an ad for a drum style high cap magazine for the Browning Buckmark. Does anyone know if this is true? I have checked the archives and the GB'er auctions with no luck.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It might be a adaptation of the drum mag that Black Dog makes for AR's
I bought one for S & G, to use with my conversion unit. It works OK and it's easy to load and use. But it's to large and cumbersome, far as I'm concerned. And thats with the AR. Don't see a similar drum being practical at all, with a Buckmark.
Advantage Arms makes 15 and 25 round magazines for their Glock conversation units. They would be a lot more practical and usable with a Buckmark.0 -
Can't say for sure that no Buckmark drum magazine exists, but I've never before seen or heard of one, and a quick "Google" search turns up no such thing listed anywhere. Its possible that some guy is effectively turning them out from his private shop, and so they're not readily available or widely publicized.
In *general* there ARE a number of 50 (and even higher capacity) round drum magazines available for multiple .22LR platforms, including the Ruger 10-22 (itself also available in pistol form), the .22LR AR-15 platforms, the GSG/Umarex .22 "clone" versions of military weapons, Marlin 795 rifle, and multiple others.
Don't think any of these would work out of the box on a Buckmark, but it may be possible to modify one to work.
IMO, there is little point for something like this. As mentioned these magazines are heavy, bulky, and at least in some cases difficult to load and/or unreliable. For pistols, they're sort of nuts, in my opinion.
The overwhelming majority of shooters are probably better served with LOWER capacity magazines, so they can focus on fundamental shooting, and realistically, having multiple REGULAR magazines is probably more functional in terms of carry, storage, and actual shooting than a drum.
For rifles, this sort of thing makes a little bit more sense, but again, see above.0 -
Thanks to each of you for your input. My nephew owns a Buckmark and was wanting another toy to play with. I believe he will have to find another kind of toy.
Thanks again! [:)]0 -
