I'm trying to find out when it was made.Winchester MODEL-94-30 W.C.F.Made in New Haven, CONN.#1554029 0 -
I think half octagon is the least common and probably the most expensive for equal condition. Also the least attractive looking TO ME.
I know some models are more common in octagon even though they cost more at the time. I can see why, it is just the natural looking barrel for the period.0 -
My favorite has always been the saddle ring carbine for style, popularity and "Old West" flair.

See, now I prefer a 26" full octagon with a tang sight. A button magazine to top it off! 0 -
I'm liking the standard 94 rifle with the octagon barrel. 0 -
Well, I thing the antique age with an octagon barrel, in the sporting rifle configuration would be it for me. I might prefer the set triggers with a tang sight, too. You must name a chambered cartridge, and mine would be the 38-55, even though the 30 W.C.F. is more popular.

My preferred is a Model 1894 Take Down Sporting Rifle, 26-inch octagon barrel, full length magazine, 30 WCF, Lyman tang sight[^] 0 -
