Changing Winchokes?
Needs some advice on Winchokes. Have a winchester 1300 pump shotgun with the 'knurled' style chokes. Is there a wrench or some other tool for changing these? The current one is a MOD and is only finger tight. Not sure if this should be tightnened down further or is intended for be changed without tools??
thanks in advance for any help

I believe there is a spanner that goes half way around the choke and engaged a notch on the other side. Looks like a C on a handle with a notch at the end of the C.
Also, put a little oil on the choke so that it doesn't freeze on when putting a choke in.0 -
This is what the wrench looks like. If you do decide to use a wrench to keep the choke tube tight? I would put anti-size grease on the threads prior to tightening.

I only snug mine up finger tight, but I check them often when in the field, just habit every now and then I give it a slight twist to make sure it is still tight. 0 -
I like the metal filled anti-seize compound made for choke tubes. Mine just change out with a quarter, I don't wrench them down. 0 -
I only hand tighten, never have had one to loosen under use. 0
