Remington Model 12 .22 Pump Dating
I have a Remington Model 12 .22 Pump in round barrel. It is an early one so therefore there is no letter in the serial number for dating it. The barrel has the Pederson patent dates and the receiver is NOT marked with the Model 12. I have searched high and low regarding the Model 12 but can not locate any information as to when Remington started to mark the receiver with the Model 12. Someone told me that Remington started doing this in 1914 but I am not positive of his answers. Any one have any thoughts as to when Remington started marking the Model 12 on the receiver ??

Look for a two letter date code on the lower left of the barrel.(may need to remove the magazine tube.) It should have a code if made after 1921. Check date code here:http://www.remingtonsociety.com/questions/BLACKPOWDERX.htm
Date code will usually appear as one letter over another.

We all ready removed the tube. There are no letter codes anywhere on the gun. We have seen the same gun from around 1919 and they already had the Model 12 on the receiver and this one DOES NOT 0 -
