S&W International line thrower model 270

My uncle passed away and left me a smith and wesson model 270 international line thrower. What is it worth? Is it considered a flare gun or a pistol? Thank you for your help.

  I'd bet it is a gun in nanny states. It fires a projectile, just happens to have a string attached. A complete with box and paperwork went for about $795.

  Don't know for sure about a line throwing gun, but ...BATFE says a flare gun, by itself, is NOT a firearm, however; if you are in possession of the gun and certain anti personnel rounds for it.. It must be registered as a " destructive device"... Your state laws will vary....
