Beautiful example! And, the 'MUM' is still on there. 0 -

Very nice. Should you choose to sell it, make sure to advertise it has the unground mum, AA sights, and monopod- all of these are very desirable. 0 -
Yep, nice looking matching Type 99 with monopod, cleaning rod, antiair sights and sling (is that original?). Looks like the only thing it is missing is the dustcover which most Japanese soldiers threw away as it made a tinny noise everytime the bolt was moved and gave away their position. Having a 99 with its matching dustcover is rather rare. These are fine rifles that are as strong as any Mauser made. Your rifle was made at the arsenal at Nagoya which made over 1m Type 99's. I have one just like yours that was captured on Okinawa with its marching dustcover and with its shipping crate sent back to APO San Fran packed with Pabst Blue Ribbon papers!! Just walked into the gunshop one day when I was there! 0 -

Looks like bidders are on it! Good luck with your auction!![:)]0 -
Stock looks refinished to me. Just a tad too un-dinged and edges of fullers look rounded. 0 -

Fatstrat.....yep, I think you are right...and Rufe also pointed that out. All three rifles he has listed look like they were all three sanded....heck, if you look close (well, as close as you can) at the Swede 94 it looks like the butt disc is buffed completely out! Not taken off but just sanded over....looks like to me. Wonder why the guy did that to the wood and let the metal go to H#@! But folks are bidding and that is a good thing!! And the 99 and 94 are north of $200.....I think pdibar4525 is happy and glad we could be of help to him![:)]0
