    I went through my references, couldn't find anything.

    More than likely the magazine is secured by a external "magazine latch". That bares on the bottom flat surface of the magazine base plate. Similarly to #35 shown in this schematic view of a Browning Nomad pistol.

    I believe it is an aftermarket magazine, rather than factory. I have owned Unique, Galesi, Bernardelli, Astra & Colt, Beretta, and Tanfoglio .22 short pistols. I don't remember any of them looking like this. The size looks like Bernardelli.

    I was thinking it was aftermarket by the shape of the bottom metal.But the rest of the mag looks like a better quality than most aftermarkets.The front of the magazine has an indent that I was assuming is for locking the mag in. Thanks for the answers.

    Looks like the magazine used by H&R on a couple semi-auto and one bolt-action .22 rifles in the 1940s '50s.
