Winchester 1885 Trapper
Sir,
I own a Winchester 1885 .38-55 trapper. Any idea how many of these guns were made and what are they worth?

Are you sure it's a Winchester model 1885 single shot?
I can find no reference to a Trappers model in The Red Book of Winchester values. I can't find anything under Browning 1885 in the Blue Book of Gun Values. Are you sure it's not an inport?

Edit: What you have is a recent production rifle, produced by USR.
Do a search on the auction side, it will tell you what they are

they were a davidson bros.item and three calibures were to be made,i think about 125 of each were made in japan by the browning citori maker. i have three,a 45-70,38-55 and 30-40 krag with the same serial number, but with different prefix letters.i have not shot mine. i think they retailed for about 1000-1100 dollars when they came out.they are not as smooth as the older japanese made browning 78,s or 85,s to me. according to T.S.albert,one of the i don,t get it crowd. 0
