marbles game getter
I recently purchased a Marbles game getter two barrel pistol. The top barrels are 22 cal top the bottom barrel is 45 ACP. Each barrel is 15" long and both are rifled. My question is is this a legal gun to have? I bought it from an FFL dealer as a pistol and will need to register it. I have looked at all avalible information and don't think Marbles offered this gun in the 45 ACP with rifled bottom barrels. I am thinking the bottom barrel is a replacement but not sure.

Sight unseen. It most likely has been reworked to make it legal. Most all that I have ever run across have been .410 shotgun.
Long as you bought it from a FFL. And he sold it per his paperwork, as a rifled barreled pistol your OK. Although technically I believe the feds could confiscate it. Because it was originally made as a contraband short barreled shotgun.0 -
I have not heard they were made in 45 ACP.
To my knowledge the Game getter was made in 3 models or generations:
Gen 1 was made from 1907-1918(I think) they were 22 Short/LR over a 44 Shot shell. Some had rifled lower barrels in 25, 32 and 38 WCF. The 44 shotshell looked like a 44 WCF. Barrels could be had in a lot of lengths but 12, 15, 18 inches were the most common.
Gen 2 was made from the 1920's-1960's(I think it was 1965). After the Firearms act in 1934 they dropped the 12" and 15" model. They added .410 as an option to the lower barrel. 22LR over either 44 Shotshell or 410 was the most common. The 44 Shotshell died out in the late 30's. The 410 was a 2.5" shell.
Gen 3 they make today. All are 22LR over 410 with 18.5" barrels. They look like the Gen 1 guns.
I think you are correct that the bottom barrel is a replacement.
