I've got some very accurate MZ loaders at 100 yards, but as I increase the powder charge to increase the velocity thing go south erratically.

They would be accurate at 300 yards if I could get enough elevation on the barrel. (shooting sabots)
mine are 28 inch barrels with a 1/28 twist

When I want to go for accuracy I drag out my 300 win mag, 264 win mag that I've glass bedded and reload accurate ammo for and see how well that I can shoot (read the wind, etc) rather than testing the gun.

Black powder and 300 yards, let us know what you come up with eventually!

google long range target muzzle loading rifles and also check out chunk guns topic here. The ones I have used were like the chunk guns. But were very accurate.
ADD: this is like one I had. http://www.GunBroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=457672278
The topic is in ask the experts under title "enlighten me on this" That can be VERY addictive like most shooting sports.[:)]

    .50cal @ 38 inches
I've had an old Hatfield warranted for more than 30 years and have never thought of looking for anything to replace it.
