Just Checked My Hunting Ground
I guess the river had gotten up higher than I thought.
One stand, which has a "low" quality to it had 10" of water under it.
My bottom field, which is/was beans, most of the field gone do to water.
I talked to the land owner and asked if I could spread some cover seed in it. Turnips or something like it.
He okay'd it.
He then stated he was looking for at just planting it in clover. He is looking for one that is somewhat "water friendly".
I told him I was way fine with that. [:D]

You still have plenty of time to get a stand of clover for this fall. Not sure you'll find clover that likes "wet feet". Neither will turnips. No root crop is going to do well in really wet soil. On the plus side, clover seed is cheap(compared to other stuff) and it will make a food source this year and next. 0 -
We plant our plots in Tompkins Co. NY first Saturday in August every year. They come up pretty good just in time for bow season. 10/1 0
