However... If you are driving around in St. Louis at 1:15 in the morning and the locals start beating on your car with hammers. GTFO... Sphincter Factor Five Mr Sulu.... Getting out of the car to confront them unarmed (or even perhaps well armed) is a darwin move.
Last time I was there we got into town after 1am and were staying near the Arch. We had some difficulty finding the hotel and had to circle the block several times trying to find the entrance. (Bunch of 1 way streets all going the wrong way) We saw nary a police officer but more than 20 drug deals going down. Super great place!0 -

The guy who got "hammered" was most likely a European immigrant(?). Judging by the name and by the relative who I saw being interviewed. Apparently, he had relatives from/in the Waterloo, Ia area. 0
