A shoebox Rem 51 380
Need a gunmsith with contact info - email/phone who works on these.
Storage unit I bought had one with all the parts except frame and extractor... just need the extractor to be made. Not found in the box, I layed all in the box out with a parts diagram and all the rest is there.
That missing part is usually not found at any of the parts houses or rarely even here.
Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
Tks and Merry X=mas to all and yours !!!

Wisners Gun Parts in OR. Or Jack First in South Dakota, would be your best bet(s) IMHO.
I had the same problem with a Hungarian, Frommer Stop, years ago. Needed a ejector, and ejector spring. Checked all the on-line parts dealers, and everybody else I could think of. When I called First, (they don't have a on-line catalog). They told me, that was the part that everybody needed for the Stop. And they couldn't keep them in stock. i got fed up after years of searching, and sold the Stop as a paperweight.
Good luck, on your search.0 -

Thanks for the reply Rufesnow & fordsix..
Still need a good gunmsith with contact info - email/phone who works on these.
I may " dry run " putting it back together myself while I'm waiting to find that extractor.0 -
Do not attempt assembly without instructions; it's really complicated. Plus, the grips will easily break, & there is a trick to putting them on (I forget what it is).

have those instructions and have taken grips on/off before

When you say extractor, do you mean just the extractor itself or the recoil block it's attached to?
I recently sold that assembly w/ fp & spring on fleabay.
These are very hard parts to find.
This gun is assembled by tricky interlocked design and is one reason John Browning called Remington's Pederson a genius.
Why anyone would want to remove that extractor escapes me.
I know this gun very well. Call me at 434 770-3433 if you need help.
This is a good example of leaving guns apart in separate places.0 -
Extractor itself, I have the breechblock with the place where the extractor was or used to be... suppose it was broken or lost by someone else before I found it in the storage unit I bought.
Will take you up on your offer... Hope that means a put it back together with all the parts..
Have located a source for that missing part in one of the parts houses that has some in stock0 -
OK, I have collector's FFL. 0 -
