older Rossi M92 Rear sight
I am looking for a rear sight "Insert" for the Rossi M92 SRC, this is an older one made before they put the flip safety on the bolt.
This rifle has a buckhorn rear sight with a small insert in it for fine adjustments in elevation. I cannot find one in all the usual places I look for gun parts.
I have looked here on the auction side, Numerich, Rossi's sight, marble and lyman to see if they made a replacement and several other places.
I would appreciate any help ya'll can give.
Thanks in advance
Sam

Is the sight similar to the original Winchester buckhorn sight? If so, would a replacement Winchester sight insert work? I've seen those on any number of websites, usually priced very reasonably. They were cheap enough you could order several to see which fit best.
Here's one for $12+shipping:

I have seen them for less without the thumb rest on the front, one but this might work for you. Search: Winchester sight elevator0 -
Make one. A file and a hack saw will do it. A large area washer the right thickness is a good starting point.
Most gunshops have a box of assorted lifter's, worth a call to ask them.0 -
He's wanting the sight insert with the diamond, like this:

The insert fit like a glove!
This rifle is an older Rossi 44mag the rear sight had an insert just like the marbles does. I was worried it would fit because the sight is different than the marbles in size of the dovetail and the buckhorn. I orded it from Brownells and it fit perfect.
Thanks for the heads up TRAP55
