How accurate are smooth bore shotgun slug barrels? What is their maximum range?

I have a Remington 870 in a .12 gauge and .20 gauge. Do slug barrels have to be made to fit shotguns or can I use any slug barrels on these shotguns? Can shot shells be fired through a slug barrel? 0 -
Slug guns should be cylinder bore. 0 -
Remington smooth slug barrels do not have a choke. If I remember correctly, they are bored slightly tighter than a regular cylinder bore. 0 -
The Remington slug guns with smith bores are choked Improved Cylinder. That is for the ones that do not have a choke tube system. 0
