Martini, German, Cont'd
This topic was reopened in the interests of safety.
I got in a trade a finely crafted, engraved German "Martini" action w/dst intended as the basis for a Zipper Imp.
The breech rear end was not socketed into the frame as British Martinis are. It is this feature that accounts for their great strength.
The small cross pin, acting in double shear, was the only feature keeping the bolt from knocking your eye out from a heavy cartridge.
There were many small gunmakers in Germany making one or another sort of single shot rifles so having one of a specific type cannot speak for many possible variations.
