Feeding the last few rounds will be iffy if you lighten the springs enough to be any different at filling the magazine up.0 -

Extra stiff spring helps ensure magazine reliability. Don't trim it. My full answer is here:

Note that with some magazines, cramming the "last" round in can be next to impossible. EG, the "so-called" 16 round magazine is really a 15 round one. With ones like that, I just don't load the last one.
EG, I think I'm OK with only 15/16 9mms or 29/30 .223s.0
