M1 Carbine identification assistance?
Hello:
I am looking for some assistance with identification of some of the parts on my carbine. I can see the barrel is Rock-Ola, the receiver is Quality Hardware and the trigger housing is Inland. What manufacturers are the other markings indicative of?
How about the repair to the stock? Was this a "typical" technique to repair a crack?
I am not looking for a valuation, simply trying to understand what I have. I realize it is a "mixmaster" of sorts, but it there anything that is "incorrect" for this piece?
Thanks for any information anyone can share.

Google "M1 carbine markings". You should find the info you need. Good luck, Ricci. 0 -
You really can't tell the manufacturer of most parts without a book. If you really need to know, that would be "US M1 Carbines, Wartime Production" by Craig Riesch, < $20.
There's really nothing "incorrect" on any imported, rebuilt, mixed parts carbine. The stock repair, as well as the partial SN stamped on the wood, indicates it was worked on by some foreign country's military armorer. The US military didn't repair carbine stocks, they had new replacement stocks on hand. I suspect that if you look closely at the barrel & receiver, you will find the importer marking.
I would expect it to sell in the $400-600 range, depending upon the bore condition & muzzle wear.

The rear sight is a Type III late war made by the IR Co.
The barrel band marked by SI is a Type III made for Inland Carbines.
The magazine catch was made early 1945 and was designed to hold the
30 rd magazine.
The Operating Slide is late war and the markings are not real clear.
The handguard is an early Type II with the 2 rivets instead of 4, and
not stamped with a mfg's code but maybe a partial serial number as
these stocks were reworked post war to eliminate weak points. The
stock has also been sanded and refinished.
It is a definite post war rebuild, the last serial number Quality
made was 4,879,525 and yours is 58,000 from the last produced.
Quality Hardware did not make their own barrels, but used Inland,
Buffalo and Rockola barrels which is correct for your carbine.
If you want to try and search for the correct stock, it would be
one marked Q-RMC which was made by the Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corp.
The correct handguard would be a 4 rivet stamped RO-Q.
