Unertl Recoil Spring
I need a recoil spring for a Litschert 3/4" 15X "Spot Shot" scope. Champion has them, but $50.00 for an about 3" long spring - I'm wondering if there are any other alternatives? I know Leatherwood (Hi Lux) makes their own line of external adjust scopes, including a recoil spring, but I don't see the spring sold separately?
Any suggestions?
Edit: I know the spring isn't required but I prefer having it than not. I'm not yet sure what I'm going to even put this on - probably buy a rifle just because I did well on getting the scope.

The spring is not necessary. You can pull the scope with your hand to return it to battery. 0 -
What about a section of shotgun magazine tube spring. You could re-wrap it to the correct diameter. 0 -
McMaster-Carr has a bunch of compression springs.
You need to know about what compressive strength you need, verses the OD and spring wire size.
For example;

The only problem might be finding it without zinc plating.0 -

Thanks for that site - all sorts of helpful stuff there. I placed an order for a few different spring sizes, will see what works. They listed some springs as not having zinc plating, although having it isn't a deal killer for me.
The scope is most likely going on a 22 centerfire. Nothing hard kicking.0 -
I have a couple of new complete assemblies. Email me at seewinr@aol.com, or take a look here:http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=81590 0 -
