Uberti Bird's Head revolver grip questions
I posted a similar message on the Black Powder and Cowboy Action Shooting forum, but thought maybe some of y'all here might have an opinion.
Do any of you SASS or CAS guys have any strong opinions one way or the other regarding Bird's Head grips vs. "standard" SAA grips on the Uberti revolvers. Are they more comfortable to shoot and easier on the hands with hotter .357 magnum loads? Do they give you any edge on a faster aim? Are they suitable for practicing "fast draw"? Does anybody make stag or other exotic Bird's Head grips specifically to fit the Uberti backstrap/frame?
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Much obliged.

Never handled an Uberti bird head grip. I can say I have both grips on New Vaqueros, and find the bird head a little harder to hang on to than the standard grip. Much like the difference between a round but Smith & Wesson and a Smith with square butt. This may be very personal as I don't much care for Smith round butts either. If you do the bird head may be just the grip for you. I do like the way they look, but seem to get a bit more muzzle rise from the bird head. 0
