Another safe moving question.
Trying to remove the door to make it lighter. My understanding is that with the door wide open you should be able to just lift the door off of the hinges. Can't seem to get it to come up high enough to clear. Top hinge hits the top of the door opening and the door pin won't clear the bottom part of the hinge that is attached to the safe. Older Liberty Lincoln 25 Model safe. Am I missing something?

Some safes have a heavy steel curved piece that prevents the door from opening much more than 90 degrees. That limit member is usually bolted to the hinge side of the door. To remove it you need to remove the inner door panel and remove the screws securing it. The door then should swing far enough open so it will lift off of the hinges. 0
