No offense. But the markings on the box don't mean anything. Folks swap out boxes all the time.

If your not able to post quality photos. Best thing to do is a run-down of all the markings. The H-P's usually have very distinct slide legend. Give us that. Describe the proof marks. Also a partial serial number, might be able to help us date it.

Click on this link. It has a zillion H-P pics. See if one looks like the one you have?

13 rows down (not counting the top line with the 1911 and grips, etc), 3rd and 4th from the left. It has the long graduated sight that sits up off the slide. Serial number of the gun is 511mm50477 and matches the box which is a hard black plastic one same as in the 4th picture. Looks like the word capitan, or catitan is also on the box label. Hard to see since the print is smaller and it's right where the box opens. Thanks again.

Your pistol was one of 2200 produced in the year 2000. A total of around 18,000 High Powers were produced with the 511 prefix between 1999 and 2006 so they are not common and there is collector interest. These weren't cheap; they cost about $1000 when first imported.

Believe this is the one? Got it off the net. As Mark notes big buck item. I would put a substantial starting price on it.

That is the one, thanks! Since there is no real history of value, and the owner can't stomach a zero start, what would you think that a realistic starting point would be?

Here is a older one from the auction, that didn't sell @ 1,300. Since
yours is a more recent and NIB. I would put a starting price of $1,200, and hope it would get multiple bidders interested enough. To start a bidding war.
