Not that I know of; but all Colts (more likely those w/aluminum frames) could by hurt by amateur barrel removal, as they were REALY tightly screwed into the frame.

The Colt Agent revolver I have has a straight line on frame right under where the barrel screws in. Could be a crack but looks like a scribe mark to align barrel. Have magnified it the best I could and looks like a scratch or a scribe mark.

I would take it to a competent gunsmith. Or have it magnafluxed, (if that is even possible with a very small surface area, like your Colt?).

magumflux I don't thank will work on a light weigh frame (alum or such)

There is a dye check for cracks using UV light. Try your local auto machine shop, they could check it for a few bucks instead of you buying all the stuff.

Never heard of a problem and I had a couple. Great little carry guns.

There were issues with the Colt Aircrewman..a similar sized version of the Agent/Detective Special. Very few specimens survive today and are highly collectible.
