I believe them to be French, for the Gras Rifle. This rifle, was a single shot, Black Powder, 11mm. Used by the French military, from the early 1870's until 1886. When the Lebel was adopted.

Below is a Gras carbine with a similar bayonet.

You might check, for current fair market value. From the bayonet dealers on the net. There are at least a couple sites that specialize in bayonets.

From what I know, these Gras bayonets aren't rare. The only way they would be valuable. If they were in mint, uncleaned condition. Most have been emery clothed and buffed, over the years. This doesn't make collectors happy.

I personally like French bayonets much better than French firearms. [:)][:)]

How about a ball park estimate? They appear, never sharpened and not cleaned but a few nicks on the blade.
    $50.00 ea? $500.00 each Or?
    Thanks again,

    Ed,

Type in *French Bayonet* on the auction side.
Quite a few of the remain unsold. Perhaps $75.00.
    Best.

Ed, contact Ralph Cobb on his bayo website, he's a walking encyclopedia of bayonets.
