A member of a Camaro/Trans Am forum I frequent has found a rifle from his great-grandfather's collection and he has no clue what it is.....I am stumped also....here's a link to his thread....any help would be greatly appreciated

Nice hole in the barrel. One of the marks reminds me of the mum, wonder if it made Japan along it's journey.

The marked disc on the side is part of a grenade launcher sight.

Felix C is close, but no cigar in that the Eddystone M-1917 (note M for model, NOT P for pattern) is the US version of the same rifle. The lack of US proofmarks as well as the presence of British acceptance marks, and the broadarrow stamp, clearly ID it as a British weapon.
