s&w K frame question
i have two K frames with the same problem, the cylinder is hard to swing out of the frame after the latch is pushed. looking at the frame with the cyl open it appears the plunger does not move forward enough, lacking a half mm or so of being flush with the hole in the frame. is this a reasonably easy fix or an adjustment? thanks

Check that the ejector rod has not unscrewed just a smidge. IIRC, has a left hand thread. 0 -

If it is unscrewed it has "right hand thread" [;)]
They went to "left hand" for that reason.
Put a thick rag in plier jaws, a in the cylinder and tighten the rod.0 -
You need to take the side plate off and clean out the area in front of the bolt. I would fully take them apart and clean everything. Lightly oil and put them back together with blue low strength thread locker in the right places. The front screw that holds the crane in is fitted.
Part 22 isn't moving far enough forward due to crud build up inside.

I use a piece of leather with rosin on the ejector rod and a small vice to remove it. I use some thread locker when I put it together so it doesn't back off and make opening an issue,0 -

No offense meant. But most folks here in the US, rightly or wrongly. Wouldn't know a half mm, from a pimple on their butts. Couple of thousands, (.002), Would be more understandable to them.0 -
Also check to make sure that the two rounded sideplate screws have not been switched out. 0 -

well i knew what i meant. 1mm is .03937 or .040 is why a 10mm is a 40 cal. will remove side plate and clean. thanks everyone. 0 -
If the initial opening of the cylinder is stiff but then swings out freely I'd suspect a loose ejector rod.
If it opens okay but the cylinder doesn't swing freely throughout it's arc I'd look for what SP45 mentions. Those two screws appear identical on casual observation, but are slightly different lengths. If they get accidentally swapped the cylinder will unlock from the frame okay, but slight resistance will be felt as it's moved to full open.0
