A. Greener Double Barrel
Saw a Greener Double Barrel on the Auction side with Laminated barrels. Is that the same as Damascus? Thanks.

There were a lot of different patterns of forge welded barrels in those days. I figure that all Damascus is laminated but not all Laminated is Damascus.
Greener said it was better, but I doubt it is enough stronger to matter. All Damascus cautions apply.0 -
Short answer, yes, they mean the same thing. Laminated is the better description. 0 -
Thanks fellers, it's still there at $50 but below reserve. Wallhanger I guess but I ain't got a wall at the present time. THEY won't let me do it here at the "HOME ON THE HILL".[8D] 0 -
Got an auction number?
I'd like to see a Greener for $50.
Note: There are a lot of fake Greeners. As W.W. said, the only thing with more knockoffs in his day was Westley Richards.
Found it. You really meant "A. Greener" not a "Greener."
One of the many Belgian made knockoffs of name brand British shotguns. Wall hanger for sure.0 -

I agree, they are not the same.0 -
Odds are great it's a Belgian gun, but I've read that William Greener (as in W.W.Greener) had a son named Albert who immigrated to the US in the mid-1800's and ended up producing a small number of guns himself.
There's always the outside chance that it's one of these.0 -
maybe this one ?

That's the one I found and it is covered up with Belgian proof marks. 0 -
W.W. Greener made fine shotguns and they're marked W.W. Greener. 0
