Bent Op rod

I have a ww2 SA Garand op rod that is slightly bent. No doubt a dumb question but-- Can it be straightened properly to use?
Does it have any value as is ?

  I any case, the rods are purpose bent and should bot be straightened. R-S's little diagram shows the subtle twists of the piston.
