WINCHESTER 1894 made 1905/06

My Winchester 1894 , serial 354811 has patent stamp of August 14 and I have been told that a small group of rifles in this serial number range should read August 21---- Can you confirm this little known fact.   The correct patent date for the Model 1894 is August 21, 1894. There were several thousand Carbines and round barreled rifles in the 320,000 - 380,000 range that were incorrectly marked with the August 14, 1894 date. I have documented at least a dozen of them with the incorrect date on them.
